Rowan is a boy of six, motherless, fatherless, his only friends an enigmatic entity he calls Mind who lives in his brain and gives him images of the past and the future, and a forest elf named Romulus, who is a prisoner of Rowan's caretakers, the fearsome Dr. Bowusuvi and the intensely friendly Dr. Mulgar. The story of his life unfolds in the eternal present, between the future and past which fill his mind. Haynta is a girl of seventeen, a student at Clarks Hill Institute for troublesome children, who is and has always been a loner. She dreams, and wishes for, a world and life less mundane, where dragons soar, fairy folk roam the streams and moors, and anything might happen at any time; but she believes that the world is a place without magic, and lives her life waiting for bedtime, so that she can dream. But what are those bright mischievous eyes watching her from the corners of the night? The story of her life has been told a thousand thousand times by a thousand thousand children who have wanted excitement, have wanted joy, have wanted love. Yaan is a girl of nine rambling her days across golden meadows on an idyllic farm, surrounded and cared for by people who love her and are kind to her, but none, save her mother, who know that she can see things that no one else can see, perhaps the very pattern of reality and the subtle but infinite magic that seethes and crackles in the unseen creases of this quiet country. The story of her life will be told, in the words of a different rambler of meadows from a different world, in the infinite expectation of the dawn. This quiet country is Lenima, a wide land of forest and field, bird and bloom, river and sky, at first look a lush green land as quiet and mundane as the many farms and small towns that speckle its length and breadth. It wasn't always so: For generations, while brutal Narian invaders harried the borders, competing Houses bickered and fought, staining the unending undulations of green with blood, both literal and figurative. Then, in the aftermath of the Shark war, during which the Leniman traitor known only as the Shark almost led the Narians to conquest, the House of Leopard brought a unity and peace to Lenima which has lasted two hundred years. However, the prophecy of Rahab, the first and greatest of Lenima's mages, states that the House of Leopard will soon be destroyed by the spawn of two wizards with the Shark reborn as her henchman. How will the lives of these three children bear upon each other, and upon Lenima and the prophecy of Rahab? In the still moment between the rising and falling of a great wing, the story is told, has been told, and will be told.

6 of 7 people found the following review helpful. You'll have great fun with this installment of the Dragon Blood series! By Hy D. Tran Note: I received a review copy.Somewhat spoiler warning: This ends with a cliffhanger. The author's endnotes states that the "final installment" will be released 12/22/2015.Less spoiler-y warning: There is a book 5.5 (see my other reviews). I highly recommend 5.5 before embarking on book 6. 5.5 is a shorter oeuvre, and explores less-explored characters. While you don't need to do so, the character exposition and adventures in 5.5 will enrich your enjoyment of 6.This book goes into Cas (one of the protagonists in "Deathmaker," book 2) in quite a bit of depth. We also get a lot of dialogue from one of my favorite characters, Jaxi. Cas has become depressed over the events of "Blade's Memory", book 5, and this is mostly Cas's adventure. As is usual, Lindsay Buroker weaves fast, headlong action, together with engaging characters (even the somewhat villainous ones), and snappy dialogues--internal and external. A new villain (or villain upgrade) appears in book 5.5, but book 6 is the full entrance, and Cas gets to try to help solve problems. Don't worry, though--we get a lot of Ridge, Sardelle, Tolemek, and how can we forget Jaxi?If you've read the other Dragon's Blood books, you won't want to miss this installment. If you can't stand a cliffhanger, wait 2 months, and buy books 6 & 7 when book 7 comes out. You can scratch your itch with book 5.5. If you haven't read the other Dragon Blood installments, find book 1 and try it. If you enjoy (mind you, book 1 ends neatly, so you can choose to stop at just 1 book), then, buy the rest of the series.

I did see however that this next book may be the final installment of this series I hope not though because I love reading about By Daryl I'm not an avid reader, But I decided to check this series out, and got hooked. Lindsay keeps me laughing and amused with anticipation of what is going to happen next in the plot. Raptor book 6 Left me wanting more. So I grabbed my tablet looked on kindle and found she has another book coming out in December so I preordered it right away. Can not wait to see what happens next. I did see however that this next book may be the final installment of this series I hope not though because I love reading about the adventures Sardelle, cas, Deathmaker, jaxi, & Ridgewalker and many more characters that are in her series of books. Lindsay has made me want to read again and that says a lot to me and the people around me. Some of my friends are even now interested in the story and have borrowed my books. lolThank you Lindsay for your great story telling. :)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Lindsay Buroker never disappoints. By Zoe @ Blessed and Bewildered Lindsay Buroker never disappoints. Raptor seamlessly takes you on the next exciting adventure in the Dragon Blood series.Buroker’s world building is fantastic in that she makes a true fantasy environment feel familiar and right. Her characters are fully developed and she manages to take the common, irritating, quirky family traits that exist in all families, in one form or another, and makes them humorous rather than irritating. There is not a single "normal" person in her stories and there is definitely not a single "normal" family. Thank goodness; how boring that would be!Buroker gives us:- An assassin.- A dragon releasing King.- A beautiful, kind-hearted sorceress with a savior complex.- A snarky, talking, meddling, sorceress imbued sword.- A crazy, hot, wooden dragon rubbing (for luck), well-intentioned rogue fighter pilot whose luck seems to hold; the dragon rubbing must work.- An innocent, childlike, dragon loving sorceress in training.- A silver dragon, who can turn into a human, has questionable judgement, and is attached to the sorceress in training.- A dreadlocks wearing, mad scientist, ex-pirate who is hated by most, feared by everyone smart, and yet lovable at the same time .- A tiny but mighty assassin trained sharpshooter carrying a load of guilt and a deadly sword she doesn't want.- A young, gangly, self-deprecating pilot given the call sign Pimples...yikes...not exactly confidence inspiring.- A spot on demolitions chick.- A couple of wicked, lying, criminal gold dragons accidentally set loose who kill and plunder.- A gold dragon who thinks himself god and everyone else his worshippers; at least he helps when needed.- A supporting array of pilots, military brass, hardened criminals, and all those family misfits.A cast unlike any other....so much fun and rather endearing.Raptor is full of dragons, magic, cave-ins, crazy exploits, and non-stop humor and action. It is also filled with some real physical and emotional pain, fears, and misplaced guilt which make the characters real. All said, you really should read Raptor just to find out what happens to the sofa. Yep, the fate of a sofa is quite hilarious and pops up throughout the story.I can't leave you without an important word of warning...be wary of swords!“Please. I can fry the butt hair off a flea, if I so choose."I received a review copy in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. My thanks to the author Lindsay Buroker. The books in the Dragon Blood series:1. Balanced on the Blade's Edge2. Deathmaker3. Blood Charged4. Patterns in the Dark5. The Blade's Memory6. Raptor7. Souldblade (review coming soon)Yep, I know that I am missing reviews for books 4 and 5. I have read and loved all of the books but somehow I missed reviewing a couple. I am going to go back and happily reread those earlier books soon and write reviews to fill in my gaps in the series. For all of my reviews visit my blog at https://blessedandbewildered.wordpress.com

When young David and Mama and Papa are celebrating Hanukkah one frosty winter evening in Brooklyn, Papa sees a parakeet sitting on the window ledge. He lets the parakeet in and everyone is delighted to find that it speaks Yiddish. They name it Dreidel and it becomes part of their family. Many years later, when David is in college, he is at a party one night and tells Dreidel's story―only to discover that Zelda, a young woman at the party, owned the bird herself as a child. Papa and Mama are worried that they will have to give their beloved pet back, but then David and Zelda decide to get married after college, and everyone agrees that they should take Dreidel with them as they start their own family.

The Parakeet Named Dreidel, by Isaac Bashevis Singer

From School Library Journal K-Gr 3—In this picture book version of a story first published by Singer as part of a collection, a father relates the story of the time, 10 years ago, that his young son David rescued a parakeet that appeared on their snowy windowsill on the last evening of Hanukkah. Dreidel, as the family named him, is a friendly, tame bird that even speaks a bit of Yiddish ("Zeldele, go to sleep"); the family is overjoyed when no one answers any of their notices advertising a lost bird. Ten years go by, with Dreidel a beloved family member, and then David goes off to college—where he tells the story of Dreidel at a party and a young woman exclaims, "I am this Zeldele!" David and Zelda get married and Dreidel the matchmaker goes off to live with them. VERDICT Friendly cartoon watercolor illustrations and the father's warm, understated narration make this a wonderful choice for a family lapsit and a read-aloud over the holiday season or anytime.—Eva Mitnick, Los Angeles Public Library

Singer’s A Parakeet Named Dreidel. we can picture ourselves surprised at the parakeet’s first appearance and feel ourselves part of Dreidel and the family's experiences as they get to know and love each other. A touching story that now has its deserved separate existence for young and old to enjoy..

Amazing By Norwest It was really good because Isaac found the parakeet on Hanukkah and at first he wanted the owner to find it but they didn't so his son grew up with it and then his son went to a Hanukkah party and the original owners came to Isaac's house and the son and original owners daughter got married and they kept the parakeet.L

A classic story with delightful new drawings that kids will love By Golda The classic Hannukah story by Isaac Bashevis Singer - starring a special parakeet named Dreidel - as magical as ever, refreshed and enlivened by Suzanne Raphael Berkson's delightful, colorful drawings. Pirates + a frontier system + a rookie captain? Good times. Sydney Chambers is the Navy’s brightest star until a superior’s folly brings a court martial down on her career. Though found innocent, she’s still tainted ... and though her Admiralty mentor salvages a captaincy for her, it comes with banishment to the farthest frontier system in the Confederacy. There she must face down two powerful bands of pirates armed only with a Navy ship recently salvaged from the scrap heap ... and only the vaguest idea of who her enemies are, or who her friends might be.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. A work that wasn't compelling. By Mvargus I felt like I was reading a bit of an outline or draft rather than a finished and complete book as I read this. The themes were not uncommon to the genre and the characters were mostly bland. The author did put in a number of sub-plots that had potential, but this played out mostly as an origin story and sadly I have to say that other authors have done the "lone ship on a mission of mercy/danger" quite a bit better. The addition of flashbacks that neither illuminated characters nor fully explained the plot points they were attempting to highlight didn't help. Its a good book and a great start to a series in some ways, but I just didn't find it compelling.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Tragedy of Unfilled Potential By Kindle Customer It is tragic, a background and character could have been so much more. Like a sandwich where the center is bland lettuce, and a couple very thin great slices of meat and cheese between some awesome bread with out any spread. I wanted the filling and flavor so much. The potential for character development and grand adventure was there, all the events of multiple chases squeezed into three battles. The actions were not logical, or progression based. The first action showed a foiled piracy becoming a foiled rescue, but was never really brought to life, either through multiple viewpoints or a hunt for a leak of military information. Where were the multiple hunts for pirates through empty systems or ships that were just failed to be saved?Where are the limitations of the technology that provide scenarios that prove tactics, strategy, and cunning? The inventions and upgrades of the engineer being used in creative ways by the bridge officers and captain? The cunning of pirates shown through inventive traps of O'Shaughnessy (leading the TSM into the asteroid field and blowing up rocks to scattershot the chaser, or leaving signs leading to a false base while a target is attacked) or brutal ruthlessness of Vattermann depicted through diabolical choices that don't have a right answer? ( like killing the Pirates left onboard the Pride first chapter through remote denonated bombs or leaving bomb onboard ships as a means of forcing disengagement of the militia or TSM then blowing them up anyway?)The flashbacks showed not a young officer of conviction and courage tripped up by a shark like lawyer, but someone I wanted to slap in a SNL sketch. All through the story we were told, not shown or illustrated through the characters in what could have been character development.

Good start want to learn more about this universe By Amazon Customer This book was a great start and I wanted to learn more about this Confederacy and why it was coming to an end. An old Starship is sent to a system that has had not been patrolled for a long time it is commanded by a former top officer and she has to pull the system's government into a team to help her break up some pirate gangs one which is a very bad gang and another which is rebelling against a very controlling company. There are several back stories that could have been placed in better places but they set up 2 very good stories in the story. I would have given this book 5 stars if it had been proofed better but I still highly recommend this book and make a request that the author write more in this series. Thanks for this one.

Gift For You This book desperately needs a more comprehensive index (what's 5-10 pages more in such a thick book?). As is, it's not very user-friendly with such a basic index. I wasn't able to locate some very popular areas while in Costa Rica, even after thumbing through that entire section of the book. I tried to use the book in three different Central American countries but got so frustrated that I finally purchased Lonely Planet on my Kindle.

It starts out with a map of Spain. The five-day guide provides recommendations, tips, currency, country code, emergency numbers, local airports, and explains about how emergency treatment is provided for free in public hospitals for visitors. I was surprised about that. August is the high season. Bring a good pair of walking shoes. The guide tells you what important items you won't want to forget. Sightseeing highlights included as well as hidden treasures of less-known gems you won't want to miss. Etiquette for greeting, dining, and smoking is provided. Information provided regarding tipping. There are bike, boat, and walking tours as well as bus or car. There is even a five-day itinerary provided that you can play around with to suit your personal tastes and add or subtract activities for a fun-filled, well-balanced time in Barcelona! It's a big city, but walkable during five days, according to the guide, or you can rent a bike. Restaurants and hotel information included. A book full of tips and necessary information that I highly recommend if you want to have a safe, fun-filled trip.

My family and I just came back from Barcelona and we really enjoyed the rest of our stay there. My kids enjoyed using simple Spanish phrases from this book which made me impressed because we were able to have good conversation with most of the people. How I wish it has more places listed so the next time my family visits the place, we can try going to new places! But overall, the travel experience was awesome with the help of this book!

Adventures Among Books (annotated), by Andrew Lang

About the Author Andrew Lang (March, 31, 1844 July 20, 1912) was a Scottish writer and literary critic who is best known as a collector of folk and fairy tales. Lang s academic interests extended beyond the literary and he was a noted contributor to the fields of anthropology, folklore, psychical research, history, and classic scholarship, as well as the inspiration for the University of St. Andrew s Andrew Lang Lectures. A prolific author, Lang published more than 100 works during his career, including twelve fairy books, in which he compiled folk and fairy tales from around the world. Lang s Lilac Fairy and Red Fairy books are credited with influencing J. R. R. Tolkien, who commented on the importance of fairy stories in the modern world in his 1939 Andrew Lang Lecture On Fairy-Stories.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A book for people who care about reading By Reliquiae In this Kindle version there are a few spacing issues between paragraphs, but otherwise there are few other mistakes in format. The annoying issue is that the Table of Contents is not active. However the Footnotes are. At the end of this review I've included the missing Location numbers for the chapter divisions for anyone who is interested. The book is a well-known collection of papers written in the late 19th and early 20th centuries about literature. Andrew Lang is best remembered as a poet, novelist, critic, and a contributor to anthropology. But he is probably most admired for his collections of fairy tales. Lang believed that booklovers should read what they enjoy and care about, and reading his Adventures Among Books opens up new directions for readers to follow.Even after more than a century has passed, lovers of good literature will still find much to glean from these essays. The first chapter, from which the title of the book is taken, is one of the most valuable. It's the most autobiographical, offering insight into Lang's life and literary tastes. He recalls for us his most vivid memories of the stories he read or heard. Lang especially treasured tales from his childhood, which he said "clung to my memory." He accounts for his profound love for books as a "gift given to me by the fairies." Indeed he was a fan of fairytales, believing that "a boy of five is more at home in Fairyland than in his own country." This perhaps accounts for his publication of 12 books of fairytales. Lang moves on from his childhood to describe his personal encounters with the classics and his bond with the world's great authors that he so admired. Most other chapters are interesting and valuable as well, although some are dated and others too esoteric to hold my concentration. His essay about his friend, Robert Louis Stevenson, was insightful, although there is better literary analysis to be found elsewhere. The same may be said about chapters concerning "Oliver Wendell Holmes" or "Mr. Morris's Poems" or "Mrs. Radcliffe's Novels." A few discussions, although probably compelling in their day, have less value now, unless one is a Lang scholar or still reads some of the works he cites. On the other hand, I am probably just revealing my own shallow interests and literary ignorance.I particularly enjoyed his chapter devoted to St. Augustine's Confessions. It is a fine essay to introduce and illuminate this classic work - at least until the closing paragraphs. When Augustine finally submits to Christ, Lang admits that that was the point for him that "the Saint becomes less interesting." While he regards Augustine's Confessions as "the most human of books," he is far less interested in it when it "strays into theology" following the saint's conversion. Earlier, Lang admitted to not having absorbed much of his Scottish Presbyterian upbringing. "I got no harm from "The Shorter Catechism," he writes in the first essay, "of which I remember little, and neither then nor now was or am able to understand a single sentence." Maybe if he really had learned his catechism he would have appreciated Augustine's theology more.Lang pays tribute to many other great writers throughout the book, among them the American author, Nathaniel Hawthorne. He was America's "classic author," says Lang. "His renown is unimpeached: his greatness is probably permanent, because he is at once such an original and personal genius, and such a judicious and determined artist."A final example of Lang's essays is his "Stories and Story-telling." Where do good stories come from? In the end, Lang is not entirely sure. "Fiction is a beautiful disease of the brain... Something, an incident or an experience, or a reflection, gets imbedded, incrusted, in the properly constituted mind, and becomes the nucleus of a pearl of romance." The essay is fascinating for its exploration of how one possessed of the "disease" might begin to write good stories. "What is the mysterious art by which these things are done? What makes the well-told story seem real, rich with life, actual, engrossing? It is the secret of genius, of the novelist's art, and the writer who cannot practise the art might as well try to discover the Philosopher's Stone, or to 'harp fish out of the water.'" Too bad for the rest of us.Each of the essays in this volume is instructive and most are worth the time it takes to read and unpack them. Andrew Lang's Adventures Among Books could easily form a guide or syllabus for a literature course, except for the author's own warning: "Distrust a course of reading! People who really care for books read all of them. There is no other course." Good advice for booklovers of any age.TOCPreface: Loc. 7Chapter I: Adventures Among Books, Loc. 7Chapter II: Recollections of Robert Louis Stevenson, Loc. 405Chapter III: Rab's Friend, Loc. 574Chapter IV: Oliver Wendell Holmes, Loc. 797Chapter V: Mr. Morris's Poems, Loc. 968Chapter VI: Mrs. Radcliffe's Novels, Loc. 1198Chapter VII: A Scottish Romanticist of 1830, Loc. 1391Chapter VIII: The Confessions of Saint Augustine, Loc. 1558Chapter IX: Smollett, Loc. 1710Chapter X: Nathaniel Hawthorne, Loc. 2104Chapter XI: The Paradise of Poets, Loc. 2217Chapter XII: Paris and Helen, Loc. 2303Chapter XIII: Enchanted Cigarettes, Loc. 2433Chapter VIV: Stories and Story-Telling, Loc. 2508Chapter XV: The Supernatural in Fiction, Loc. 2617Chapter XVI: An Old Scottish Psychical Researcher, Loc. 2694Chapter XVII: The Boy, Loc. 2809Footnotes: Loc. 2980

Have you ever experienced the heat and the total disregard of human survival that is the desert? Deserts are located throughout the world, and perhaps you have even heard of or known someone who was trapped out in the desert for longer than he or she intended. In fact, many situations arise that can call for being prepared with survival tips and key aspects of desert navigation. When people think about survival in the desert, they think about a barren terrain, unbearably hot temperatures and perhaps a lack of water, lost and no civilization in sight. This might be the clichéd “worst case scenario,” but in fact it completely lacks substance when compared to the diverse environments and situations one can be dropped into when trying to survive in the desert. Perhaps you’re considering a trek out into the desert for some adventurous activity. Maybe you’re thing is rock climbing, or perhaps you like to go dirt biking or hiking. It is actually quite popular to venture out into the desert. However, many people ignore the warnings about needed supplies and helpful strategies of survival. Having read this book, you will know enough about the supplies you need and the necessary survival strategies. You'll know to check out what is specific to the desert area in which you’re visiting. Don’t find yourself the victim. Practice desert survival techniques and stay safe!

Angel's Kiss (Angel Series Book 1), by Melanie Tomlin

Review This book had delivered what a lot of other novels had failed to deliver (in my opinion); proper introduction. It might be a small aspect for some people but not for me.Yes, it might be simply told through a conversation and might not be creatively scattered throughout the book for readers to uncover, but I couldn't care less. Readers could get a perfect view of what this world look like and what is happening there before we get any further, and I don't know about you but that helps me a lot in finishing a book without getting confused and bored mid way.The plot and twists towards the usual myths about vampires, werewolves, and angels are absolutely creative. I found Melanie Tomlin's idea to be fresh and original. And Helen's character development is also a plus point for me, she is officially my current girl crush. Even when she's physically unable to fight, her strong will and determination is amazing. And Danny (our swoon-worthy angel) is just as amazing. The pace might be slow but the writing style and conflicts had made up for it, so much that I found myself looking forward to my next free time so I can continue reading this book.Overall, I am in love with this book! Totally recommended to you paranormal romance lovers. Looking forward for the next installment! - The Four Eyed Cat Reviews

About the Author Melanie Tomlin was born in Beeston, England. At the age of three her family moved to suburban Melbourne, Australia, where she has lived ever since. When she was twelve her parents bought her a typewriter, and she wrote her first novel that very same year. She still has the typewriter, which is somewhat worse for wear, but that first manuscript is now nothing but a distant memory. Her first published book, Angel's Kiss, was released in 2015. The sequel, Angel's Curse, was released in February 2016. The third instalment in the series, Angel's Messiah, is due for release in June 2016.Melanie is currently working on the fourth book in the 'Angel Series' -- Angel's Body -- and a book of poems that she describes as sometimes sad, sometimes funny and more often than not a little dark.

Very reminicent of the Twilight and Fallen series, but with more hootspa. If you're looking to get lost in another world for a weekend, I definitely recommend!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. An interesting beginning to the series By Marsha @ Keeper Bookshelf Angel’s Kiss was one of those stories for me that while I didn’t love it, I also didn’t hate it. I’m very much middle of the road on this one. Has Helena turned into something both angelic and vampire? That is the question running through this story. While she has definitely died, what she returned as is a danger to so many, dangerous enough that several forces want her dead.. permanently dead.Danizriel finds himself in the odd position of being attracted to Helena, no matter what she has become. And he will fight to protect her and keep her with him – even defying orders to end her existence.I enjoyed my time with this story. At times the pace seemed very slow and while I wanted to dash ahead, the story itself kept me firmly in place. So I believe that this is a story that (as always) each reader is going to have to make up their own mind about. I honestly don’t know if I will continue the series – I think that is a decision I’ll make when I can read the story blurb. So this one is a so-so one for me, a good story but one that didn’t stick with me once the final page was turned.*I received an e-ARC of Angel’s Kiss from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

Dying is her first clue that her night isn’t going to go as they usually do, and waking up with a guy squatting next to her and claiming to be an angel doesn’t really help. Danizriel’s statement that vampires, werewolves, and angels are all real, and that Helena is now most likely both angelic and a vampire, sets Helena on course for a new life; one filled with danger and peopled with myths.Angel’s Kiss is a unique take on angel mythology, drawing on the stories of Satan’s fall and intertwining it with vampires, werewolves, and angelic power politics. Melanie Tomlin’s angels are psychologically similar to human men, subject to the same lusts, jealousies, and propensity for violence that is usually deemed to be the bastion of humanity, offering an ironic commentary on creation in a deity’s image. The story is peppered with action and drama, not least due to the flaring physical attraction between Danizriel and Helena. I did find that Helena came across as a little shallow as a character, but a little bit more character development would definitely make this book one to recommend.I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

You have written another wonderful story about your travels and adventures. As usual, the story is filled with historical facts, personal observations, and a sense of humor that makes the story a fun read.

His heart and mind were filled with hopes and dreams of a life he could never have imagined before. That day he set his first major goal: he would become a millionaire by the age of thirty. As David tenaciously pursues his goal he is forced to confront his father's sudden death, his own personal bankruptcy and drug addiction, and his mother's mental illness, which leads to her homelessness and death as a street person. Wrestling with Business and Faith By Darian Kovacs For someone in business, of faith and struggling with how to merge those two worlds, this is the perfect book. David tells his story in a fast paced manner that won't let you put the book down. Through stories of his own struggle and success one is able to get a helpful glimpse into the world of someone who has put his faith into action and seen results.David has taken time also to explain what business and faith and philanthropy has looked like for his wife and kids, which you don't often get from books like this. This book made me laugh, made me cry and gave me some great ideas for my business and faith and living out both in today's world.

Das If you google for 'how to write a blog', you will come across 1000s (if not millions) of links, articles, books about how to master the subject. Trust me, I have been searching and reading many of these blogs for the last 12 months. But, if I had to pick the most authentic one, I would pick Yann Girard. What do I mean by authentic? I feel (strongly) Yann says exactly what he thinks and how to get the best out of writing without trying to sell anything. His writing style is unique, direct and simple. It feels as if he is talking directly to you. In this book, he has put all of his best stuff in one place, from writing a blog to promoting it without pretending like an expert. He explains his struggles and how he overcomes them. Many of you will find them close to your heart. I know, I do. I recommend this book to anyone considering blogging.Happy reading.P.s. I didn't receive any payment from Yann for writing this review. I'm a huge FAN and I think if more people read his stuff, the internet will be a more pleasant place. You can reach me at twitter BPDas_

I am not a blogger, but find his advice useful because some type of blogging is important in keeping a connection with my "tribe" as he so succinctly describes our followers/group. He has inspired me to keep going and creating. His ideas of "write more often" can also be applied to painting, music, whatever your endeavor. I love his energy and push to keep going -- dont let "need to be perfect" paralyze creativity. This was a good lively read and I actually learned something!

By Sephiros I have read 7 habits of highly effective people and one day while browsing the kindle books I found this little gem. I still am not sure if Stephen Covey has ever ventured into network marketing before, but he seems to know A LOT about it.This book is not very long, but it has 7 fantastic points about certain areas you need to be diligent in to be successful in our industry. A powerful and fast read.
