1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Interesting... By A. Learner This was the sequel to California Archipelago, which I read right before. What I liked best is that the author stuck with a few main characters who survived the initial disasters. This made the story line easy to follow and gave the characters some human depth. It also helped with the narration of the disasters themselves insofar as their geographic locations. As a native Californian, I'm familiar with the state, but between multiple strong earthquakes all over such a huge area it was helpful knowing this character resides near Hoover Dam, and this character lives up in the Hollywood Hills as these things were happening.I'm always interested in a good disaster movie or book, so that's why this one peeked my interest. It wasn't overly technical with scientific facts, but had enough to support a credible scenario. While unlikely, it's not out of the realm of possibility that such a disaster could happen.Overall, I give it 4 starts. The ending of the second sequel was a bit too far-fetched and abrupt, leaving me thinking, "Is that it?" I prefer endings that are more natural and well thought out.

By Dave Avis I give this a five star because the author is very good at giving us a well told story with great characters. It was just too little of a good thing. The book ends abruptly . There is no closure. It's like having sex and when you're almost there, your child starts screaming or the telephone rings!I really liked the first book and this second book and I highly recommend both books to everyone.I do hope the author is working on another one, but longer.

By JHWJR This sequel to "California Archipelago" features non-stop action as it brought me up to date on the lives of the survivors four years after the original disaster. Their struggles to restore their previous life styles are realistic and I found myself cheering for them and mourning for those who later lost their lives. The way the disasters are connected geographically makes me believe that Mr. McGraw did considerable research on the possible effects of earthquakes in the area. I find the novel believable, scary and entertaining.
