Having worked with many companies and particularly with Human Resources departments, I was thrilled to see a book recommending FUN as a critical component of corporate culture and organizational wellness. This book is action oriented and shows organizations how to replace the old-school (think office parties and picnics) expensive and ineffective approaches to providing "fun" at work with meaningful, inexpensive and high impact experiences. You can't lose with this book. It is short enough to feel light but has enough information to feel profound. Well done Fun Department!

I'm still howling over the "hump day challenge" story of Ryan...As I read, I found the discoveries validated many aspects of my experience in the workplace, especially as it relates to change management - obtaining leadership participation, surveying and listening to what team members want to do for fun, and the idea that a healthy environment needs to adapt to change along with the various illustrations of fun - all resonate with what I have also observed in the world-of-work.When I was reading the 3Cs, I was reminded of a saying of a friend of mine who worked in the investment industry. He proudly stated that he would not hesitate to get his hair cut during business hours. When asked why, his answer was "since your hair grows on company time, it's only fair that it's cut on company time"... I realize that wasn't the point being made about company time; however, it's a funny story that remains ingrained in my memory whenever I hear the words company time!
