For years, Athine stood firm with the rest of her countrymen, defending their home, their way of life, from the brutal invading army. Even when that way of life changed out of all recognition, twisted by the pressure of living through constant battles and sieges, the people of Litt never gave up hope that they would win, that they would reclaim their country as their own. Cael joined the army of Felthiss voluntarily, he thought it would be a way to see the world, an exciting life, a way to escape the monotonous drudgery of life as a farmer. In some ways, it was never a disappointment, but there were some aspects of army life that he hadn't bargained for. He's the consummate soldier, very good at doing what he's told to do, but he isn't a heartless drone. Litt inevitably falls to the might of Felthiss, but the viciousness of the war leaves scars on both sides. Athine's choice of sanctuary leads to an encounter that forces her to run again. Only this time, someone is giving chase. She's searching for a new life, although she knows that safety and stability are too much to ask for. Cael is looking to punish the person who endangered his dearest friends, who also happen to be the leaders of Felthiss, people that he's sworn to protect. Their tale twists and turns through their adventures. Hatred and prejudice give way to a grudging respect, but if they want more, they'll have to heal their wounds.

This is my third Catherine Johnson book in 3 days. I waited forever to read the first in the series because I was not sure I would like it. Wrong! I loved book 2 also. Then I got to book 3, Finding the Stars, and was horrified to find that Athine, the villainess from book 2, is the h of this book. Ok, this took the cake. Everyone hated her including me. The H also had me worried. I loved Cael from the first 2 books but I did not want him to move away from his close friendship/ bond with Jorrell. I loved that Cael was always there to protect Serwren and Jorrell and that would have to drastically change for him to have his own tale. I just knew that Catherine Johnson was not going to be able to pull this off to my liking. Wrong, wrong, wrong! This was my favorite book of the three!Athine turned out to be an amazing heroine. There is so much we did not know or understand about her previously. She is strong, brave, humble, smart, and well... flawed. Her flaws make her feel real and not like some female James Bond performing awe-inspiring feats without ruffling her hair. She is not too sweet or too forgiving although she can be both. The relationship between Cael and Athine is a circuitous and at times gut-wrenching journey from intense hate to intense love. What a journey! The plot in this book is intricate and complex but it flows so beautifully. This is truly perfection.I cannot help but be amazed that there are no other reviews. If some author writes a ridiculously simplistic book, frankly the kind of book that gives the genre of romance a bad name, about a bad boy billionaire stepbrother it will generate 300 glowing reviews in the first week. This complex, well-written, action-packed book has no reviews! It is clear to me that Catherine Johnson spends her creative time writing and editing rather than generating a Facebook army of sycophants to positively review her books. Bottom-line, have no fear, this book is well worth both your time and your money. I guess I am going to have to read What Price Freedom, the only Catherine Johnson book on Amazon that I have not read. I did not think it sounded like I would like it!!!

Definitely 5 stars read By vash 5 Falling For Them StarsFinding the Stars is definitely an eye opener because heroine is no other than Athine, our villain from Searching the Darkness. I dislike her from Searching the Darkness but in this, I truly like her. Athine turned out to be an amazing heroine. She's not sweet nor is she forgiving at all. There is so much we don't know why is she's a horrible in Searching the Darkness but in Finding the Stars, she's strong, brave, humble and perfect heroine. The Hero is Cael, also from Searching the Darkness books and I didn't want him to lose his friendship/ bond with Jorrell. His loyalty to Serwren and Jorrell have me wanting him to have his own happily ever after. You can say that their relationship was not insta love but purely hate that turns into very strong love. Their relationship are by far very intense with what they have to go through. The plot in this book is complex but in the end, it's written beautifully.I'm definitely a loyal reader to Catherine and I truly love her writing style. I love how she can write from dark MC romance to paranormal fantasy romance. By far, this is my favorite book and this will definitely be re-read to go to after I read dark reads :).
